The Edo State Community and Social Development Agency proudly commissioned a Newly Constructed Staff Quarter and Water Scheme for the Primary Health Center in Evboehighae Community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards community development. The ceremony, graced by esteemed guests and community members, celebrated the collaborative efforts that brought this vital Projects to fruition.
Engr. Osazuwa Osarume, General Manager of the Agency, Represented by Barrister Imoudu Longe, Operation Manager, took a moment to reflect on the transformative journey that led to the realization of the Staff Quarters and Water Project in Evboehighae. He recounted the vital role played by the Commissioner for the Ministry of Communication and Orientation, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, whose advocacy prompted the agency to engage with the community in 2022. The Commissioner’s concerns about equitable development propelled the agency to conduct needs assessments and consultations, culminating in the identification of the pressing need for a staff quarters and water project.
The General Manager also praised the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, for approving the funds and the Commissioner’s important role in advocating for Evboehighae’s development. He underscored the importance of community ownership in sustaining developmental initiatives, urging residents to take responsibility for the upkeep of the staff quarters and water project.
Hon. Chris Nehikhare, the Honourable Commissioner, expressed optimism and a sense of accomplishment for Evboehighae’s future. He emphasized that the commissioning marked just the beginning of a series of objectives set for the community. Highlighting the completed staff quarters and water project as significant achievements, he outlined forthcoming improvements, including enhancements to the health centre and anticipated road repairs. He assured attendees of the government’s unwavering commitment to addressing these issues promptly and extended gratitude to the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) for their commendable efforts
